Damon Albarn, front-man of Gorillaz, is back with an entire album created solely with his iPad while on a 32 day tour this past fall. The album is titled “The Fall” and features fifteen brand new tracks that were recorded between Montreal and Seattle.

The album can be downloaded for “free” on the band’s site if you are a member of the Gorillaz fan club (The membership costs $45.00). If you are not a member, then you can stream the album until the physical release date, which is set for a later time in 2011. This is the fourth Gorillaz album and it does not disappoint in the slightest. It’s almost impossible to tell that this entire album was recorded on an iPad, which is incredible to me.

Albarn stated,

The music was recorded during spare time while on the road. I did it because there’s a lot of time that you just spend staring at walls essentially. And it was a fantastic way of doing it. I found working in the day, whether it’s in the hotel or in the venue, it was a brilliant way of keeping myself well.”

If you love the Gorillaz make sure to give the album a listen, you’ll love it just based on the music and then continue to love it even more because of how it was made.

P.S. Merry Christmas everyone!
