During last year’s SXSW a friend of mine kept saying how great James Vincent McMorrow, who I personally had yet to hear of, was. His name happened to be popping up everywhere, and I eventually decided I would give him a listen. I grabbed his album, and started listening and upon the first listen I was already hooked. His voice was unique, and slightly reminiscent of Jeff Buckley (quite possibly one of my favorite male vocalists). Ever since then he had been popping up on hype machine over and over again for his covers, which included songs such as Higher Love, Whip My Hair, and Wicked Game. We met up with James at the highest point in San Francisco, where we filmed three songs. Since all his covers are equally as amazing as his original work, we wanted to do a cover and he pulled out Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. Watch it above.

Pick up his album Early in the Morning.
